Paul Dixon

Biography

Paul is currently studying an MA in Philosophy of AI at Northeastern University, London.

In 2020 he graduated with distinction in the MSc Philosophy of the Social Sciences at the LSE. Paul previously worked for thirty years in investment banking and asset management.

Paul is currently a non-executive director at Clara-Pensions Group Ltd and a Trustee of the Lazard Directors’ Pension Scheme.

Paul offers limited M&A advisory services to selected successful growing businesses.

His institutional advisory business is London Investment Office, LIO.

Professional Career

From 1987 to 2003 Paul managed financial derivative products in both Fixed Income and Equities at Chemical Bank, now JP Morgan, and Merrill Lynch. Paul also held senior roles in Global Financial Risk Management, and in FinTech.

In 2004 Paul moved into Asset Management, where he managed assets and financial risk for Pearl Assurance, now Phoenix Group. Most recently he was Chief Investment Officer at Guardian Assurance, with responsibility for £17 billion of assets.

In 2016 Guardian was sold to Swiss Re for £1.6 billon.
